The Vibrational of Smell and healing

Imagine scent as a hidden melody. Just as musical notes come to life through air molecules vibrating at particular frequencies, and colors emerge from specific light vibrations, our sense of smell might resonate with vibration in a similar way. We’ve been taught that scent depends on the shape of molecules, but new ideas suggest it might be more about how we’re vibrating—our unique states of resonance.

Traditionally, scent has been explained by the “lock and key” theory, where each scent molecule fits perfectly with a specific receptor in our nose, sparking recognition in our brains. But there’s a limit to this view: how do we explain the scents we experience with molecules we’ve never encountered before, like artificial aromas? Or those moments when a scent feels richer, sharper, or somehow different because of how we’re feeling?

Luca Turin, a biophysicist, has suggested that our sense of smell might actually be linked to molecular vibrations. In one of his experiments, he found that even fruit flies can tell apart two nearly identical molecules based solely on differences in their vibrational frequencies. This hints at a deeper truth: perhaps scent, like sound or light, has “notes” that we sense based on our own internal vibrations.

For me, scent is about emotional resonance, and with Skatt, I feel this deeply. Its fragrance changes depending on your vibrational state, becoming a true reflection of where you are on your healing journey. When I first experienced Skatt, the scent felt like a gentle kiss, sometimes clearing, helping me release emotions or things that no longer serve me. When I’m grounded and calm, Skatt is rich and comforting, but on other days, it can feel elusive, even distant, as if it’s waiting for me to realign.

Do you also have a scent that changes and evolves along with your healing journey—a scent that invites you into a more whole version of yourself?
